Mama mia! I haven’t blogged in an uber long time as hmmm let’s see I’ve had such a blast. Whooohoooooo!!! I’ll try to make it short and sweet so here goes..how I spent my last 2 weeks..
SUNDAY, 8th JUNE
As usual I attended the 10.15am mass..i coincidentally met Brenda, Cassie, Chrissy, Shannon, Albert and his bro hence I sat with them. After mass, I was supposed to meet Edmund to pass him the “we are” shirt but he woke up late so I passed it to him via Alastair. Then I headed for lunch with Frances and Aunty Mary. We had a good lunch..the asam fish and popiah were tasty (: Soon after, we headed home and I packed my luggage yet again. Gosh! I love going on vacations but I hate packing and unpacking..it’s so tiring . In the evening, my family celebrated my parents anniversary in advance at the Copthorne King's Hotel. There was a wide buffet range and every dish was absolutely mouth watering. There was satay, popiah, kueh pai ti, prawn noodles, herbal braised duck noodles, prawns, soft shell crab, fish, rendang, vegetables, char kuey teow and not forgetting deserts and a cup of coffee. I definitely missed out some but this is all I can remember. I think I ate about 2 persons worth of food too. Heh. In addition to the wide selection, we spent quality time with each other which is most important in every family. Then an even greater surprise awaited me, I met Germaine Liu who was the head prefect in primary school and vice head councilor in secondary school. I really admire her as she isn’t the typical top scorer who immediately goes to rgs or sngs instead she stuck to her alma mater. IJ all the way! Haha. No offence to top schools though..i still respect all schools and their students. Anyway Germaine and I had a good chat about life and such. Germaine is cool! Haha. Around 10 plus, we all headed home including her family and it was back to packing for me.
MONDAY to THURSDAY, 9th to 12th JUNE
Well in a nutshell, Angela was my roommate and Malacca had its bitter sweet moments. Let’s talk about the good stuff first shall we. Well the spiritual and music input by Father JJ and Jennifer were good and I learnt lotsa new stuff. The food and freedom was fabulous as well especially freedom. I felt mom kinda “looked after” me last year but this year was absolute freedom, instead I was looking out for the younger ones. Haha. Food was much better for me as compared to last year..hotel improved its standards I guess. Making new friends is also in the list..they include Annabelle, Michelle, Tasha, Leroy and Natasha. Familiar faces were Angela, Frances and Pat. SHIRTS SHIRTS SHIRTS!!! Pat and I sold 17 “we are” shirts during those 4 days 3 nights. Awesome right..then there was shopping on the last day. I bought a bag, 3 pairs of earrings and a belt. Since I didn’t wanna carry so many shopping bags, I just dumped everything into my new bag including my passport and personal belongings. Since my earrings were so small, I didn’t see them and totally forgot about them so I threw them away together with the other plastic bags. OH MY GOSH RIGHT!!! My heart skipped like 3 beats man. Well Marcus just flew off to Malacca this morning so he said he’ll buy me earrings. Haha. Well the bitter sweet part comes now..sighs. basically there were seven of us girls out of which three were aged 13 to 14 and four aged 18 to 21. Due to the huge age gap, we sort of got off on the wrong foot as I wanted to make the younger ones not so overwhelmed by us older ones and the older ones be patient with the younger ones. Instead it backfired because the younger ones enjoyed my companionship and stuck to me while the older ones thought I was pathetic to laugh at their jokes said I was a bimbo and stuff. Not realizing that I was hanging around the younger ones not to feel powerful but to make them feel welcomed and not intimidated. Anyway on the 3rd night of our trip, things got pretty ugly as people got irritated with each other. Pat, Michelle and I were in the same room at that time so we decided to pray about it. Then Frances came in the room so she joined in..it was at that moment of silence and prayer that I felt the holy spirit really touched and filled us through Frances words of wisdom and encouragement, Michelle’s desire to improve the friendship, Pat and my words of assurance and lastly the presence of all 4 of us. I felt so light and free after that, it was as though I was on a high. Then all 7 of us went to Frances and Pat’s room to talk things out and reconcile and such. This girl was sharing about her family problem and she cried and cried and cried. By pouring her heart out, I started to tear as I was amazed by how honest and open she was to people she hardly knew. The trust was actually there like woah! I gotta admit though there wasn’t a full confession and it wasn’t as intimate as expected..it was a good start to something new. Like what Angela mentioned...as cheesy it may sound, the cheesy sayings are always the best and accurate sayings. Yup yup. I’m still praying till today that friendships all over the world continue to grow in love.
FRIDAY to MONDAY, 13th to 16th June
I can’t really remember what happened but I know that 17 shirts were sold in malaca!!! Hahahahahahaha.
TUESDAY to THURSDAY, 17th to 19th June
I was hilarious as well but the plot was kinda predictable and the scenes were too short..the ending could have been better in my opinion. Nonetheless I still enjoyed both movies (: After kungfu panda, we headed to Chris barbeque..the chicken wings were superb man. I can’t recall how many I ate but I can still taste it. Ahhhhh!!! Julian’s other side showed as well..in church he’s super quiet and shy but at the chalet..my oh my was Julian kinda high..well Cecilia, Chris, Julian and Mel were all doing crude stuff which I shan’t say here but I guess it runs in the family. LOL! Oh! I saw Marvin at the chalet too..we walked past him like twice at downtown east. Somebody pass me photos soon aiight!went to Chris and Mel’s chalet which was uber fun. Cecilia, Julian, Nicole Nonis, Pat, Timothy and Andrea were there as well. We went to wild wild wet twice and enjoyed ourselves loads despite my horrendous sun burns. Well I’m getting better now thanks to aloe vera gel (: We also watched 2 movies over 2 days!! Haha. We watched kungfu panda and get smart. Personally I preferred the latter cos I love love love Anne Hathaway and the movie was hilarious. No doubt kungfu panda
FRIDAY, 20th June
After returning from malaca and the chalet, I must say I enjoyed my beauty slumber. I woke up around 11 plus and Chelsea called regarding something which I can’t remember. Heh. I slacked till about 5 plus and went to church for band practice. However our dear drummer boy, Igy, couldn’t come as he had a high fever. GET WELL SOON PARTNER! Surprisingly, we still did an awesome job. Cheers to all of us. Well today’s session was rather short and boring for me..i really pity the catholic groups who had nothing to do. Anyway we had fellowship from the usual 7.30 to 8 then an informal interview with the rciy participants from 8 to 8.40. I got to know stuff I didn’t know about my group members so I was satisfied with the interview. The catholic groups just sat down and talked but nothing much happened..i felt they should have played a short game of taboo or something and closed the divider if noise was the problem. Anywhoos we can learn from mistakes. After the short interview with the rciy participants, testimonies by those who went for the Youth in the Spirit Seminar were said. I’m glad they had a blast just like I did when I went for the retreat in june last year. We ended the session with praise and worship. Following that was a meeting with Father JJ..from now onwards it’s Friday Nights with Father JJ for the teaching teams. Haha. Soon after, we headed to Syed’s for supper which was good as daffy was exchanging stories of her trip to us. I wanna go America now! LOL!
SATURDAY, 21st June
I went to NAFA to watch a Yamaha Electone Festival Concert. The participants were good and entertaining..definitely inspirational for those who learn the piano and/or the electone (: There were also guest performers, Alyssa Prince and Heleyna-Ann Fernandez, who sang songs from High School Musical, Hairspray and Enchanted. They had good control and pleasant to hear. After the concert, my family headed to a malay-indian coffeeshop for supper. I ordered nasi goring ikan bilis which was nice but supper peppery. Ahhhh!! Spicy it was..spicy I didn’t like. Hurs.
SUNDAY, 22nd June
Sunday was wicked for me man..i finally met up with Greg and Bryan. WHOOO!!! I went for 10.15am mass with dad and coincidentally we sat with Greg’s family. Haha. After mass, we headed home for lunch then mom and I went to macs to chill for awhile. I felt like asking Greg and Bryan out as I really missed them but Greg read my mind and asked us out to a movie so I was like oh yeah mate. Greg and I caught the incredible hulk which was incredibly good..i didn’t get some parts though like the iron man part at the end..anyway it was still good. After the movie, Greg went to the salon opposite the station to get a trim and I was worried that I would get bored as the salon looked pretty crowded but Marcus called so I was happy. After the haircut, we went to the pasar malam intending to get kueh tutu but to our dismay there wasn’t any so we got the closest to it which was putu piring. It was pretty good actually..then I got purple candy floss! While eating it, some melted and got stuck on my hair which was gross and Greg asked me to eat it off my hair -.- we went to the foodcourt to meet Bryan for dinner and did some catching up. As usual the guys were not satisfied with just dinner so they headed to yakun for toast, eggs and coffee. Bryan was really exhausted as he ran 10km the day before and met us after work so it was fun teasing the walking zombie. The classic moment was when he boarded the bus home..we were at the right side of the bustop and the buses usually go to the left right..so when the bus came bryan didn’t realize that the door was just behind him like literally behind him so he turned to his right and bumped into someone hence turning in circles and then facing the door. Greg and I were just stunned at how blur he was yet it was such an entertaining sight. Haha. You know we love you Bryan (: Ahhhh!!! Just talking about them makes me miss them already..love yall to bits and pieces luh. HUGS and KISSES!
